Biographical Information

Pitcher Jean Cosme was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 17th round of the 2014 amateur draft out of Puerto Rico. The scout was Kevin Colon. He played that first season with the GCL Orioles of the Gulf Coast League and went 2-0, 4.70 in 9 games. In 2015, he was with the Aberdeen IronBirds of the New York-Penn League where he went 3-5, 4.74 in 12 starts. He pitched 57 innings, allowed 46 hits, struck out 53 and walked 18.

On February 4, 2016, he was traded to the San Diego Padres straight up for major league pitcher Odrisamer Despaigne, who was no longer in the Padres' plans.
