Biographical Information[edit]

39-year-old Jay Crawford made his professional debut in 2005, pitching for independent St. Paul Saints of the Northern League (0-1, 2 G, 3.00 ERA) and the Long Beach Armada of the Golden Baseball League (0-0, 1 G, 0.00 ERA). Overall, he went 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA in three games (two starts). In eight innings, he allowed eight hits while striking out four batters and walking nine. He did not play again. Prior to his foray into pro baseball, he was more well-known as a local news personality.

He later hosted ESPN's Cold Pizza, First Take and 1st and 10. Until April 2017, he hosted the 11 p.m. SportsCenter. He is currently a news anchor for NBC affiliate WKYC-TV 3 in Cleveland, OH.
