Biographical Information[edit]
Javier Robles has played in the minors and for the Nicaraguan national team.
Robles hit .298/.363/.343 for Boer in Nicaragua in 2012. He was signed by Atlanta Braves scout Marvin Throneberry that winter. He played for the DSL Braves in 2013, going 4 for 11 with 2 walks, a hit-by-pitch, 7 runs and 2 RBI while handling 10 chances error-free as a middle infielder. Despite that .500 OBP, he never played again in the Braves chain.
Back in Boer in 2014, he produced at a .294/.358/.353 clip, similar numbers to his debut campaign. The next year, he hit .265/.347/.353 for them. He exploded in 2016, though, with a batting line of .374/.447/.513 with 26 doubles and 100 runs in 100 games. He led the league in hits and his 153 total bases were the most since MLB-bound David Green had 156 in 1978.
He was 2 for 8 with two walks, four runs and two RBI for Nicaragua as a solid bench contributor in the 2017 Central American Games, sitting out their Gold Medal Game win.
