Biographical information[edit]

Javier Calzada is a former minor league baseball pitcher who played in the Oakland Athletics organization from 1996 to 2001. From 1996 to 1998, he pitched in the Dominican Summer League. In 1998, he played for both the AZL Athletics and Visalia Oaks, going a combined 7-1 with a 3.74 ERA in 65 innings. In 2001, he played for the Oaks, going 7-8 with a 4.68 ERA in 31 games (24 starts). He was injured in 2001 and was intended to play with the Vancouver Canadians in 2002, but never did.
