Biographical Information[edit]

A 1995 graduate of Saint Joseph's College, Jason Taulman pitched professionally with the Lafayette Leopards and the Sioux Falls Canaries. He was a Mid-America League All-Star in 1995 and finished second in the league with a 2.50 ERA, .07 behind leader Javier Gomez; he was 6-3 that year for Lafayette. In 1996, Taulman fell to 1-3, 5.29 for Lafayette and he followed with a 8-2, 3.21 campaign in 1997, walking only 24 in 101 IP. In 1998, Jason had a 6-4, 3.12 record and walked 21 in 98 innings. He pitched the first perfect game in modern independent baseball in 1998.

Moving to Sioux Falls for his final season, he threw in four games in 1999, with a 2.25 ERA, one walk and 11 hits allowed in 8 innings.

While he was playing professional baseball, he was a college coach in the off-season. He was pitching coach at St. Joseph's in 1995 and 1996. In 1998, He was also player/coach for the Leopards. He was pitching coach at Butler University in 2001 and 2002 and rejoined the Butler coaching staff in 2005.
