Biographical Information[edit]

Collegiate Career[edit]

Jason Rodriguez played two seasons for Riverside Community College, where he hit .329 as a freshman and .311 with three homers and 36 RBI as a sophomore.

As a junior at the University of Nevada in 2007, Rodriguez hit .313 with four home runs and 38 RBI in 50 games. He led Nevada with a .390 batting average as a senior, with eight home runs and 62 RBI in 60 games. He drew 41 walks and struck out 26 times.

Professional Career[edit]

Rodriguez was picked in the 15th round of the 2008 Amateur Draft by the Cleveland Indians (471st overall).

Rodriguez played in six games for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the New York-Penn League from June 19 to June 25, 2008. He went 5 for 23 with two RBI, a walk, a run scored, and two strikeouts for a .217 batting average. He got all five of his hits (all singles) against right-handed pitchers. In the field, Rodriguez played five games at second base and one at third. He committed four errors in his short professional career - three of those in his one game at third - for a lifetime fielding percentage of .875. Jason retired in June 2008.
