Biographical Information[edit]

Jason Marian was signed as a undrafted free agent by the Seattle Mariners in May of 2002. He then reported to the Arizona League's AZL Mariners but was released in July before playing any games, under the provisions of Section XVII, Subsection B, of the Uniform Player Contract which allows a team to release a signed played if its physicians determine that he has a pre-existing injury.

Marian attended Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, CA before playing for the Saddleback College baseball team from 1997 to 1999. [1]. At Saddleback C.C., Jason Marian played two record-setting seasons,[2] helping lead the Gauchos to their first conference title and first California Championship series.[3] Marian was awarded All-State and All-American honors in 1999,[4] and in 2003, Marian was inducted into the Saddleback C.C. Hall of Fame.[5]

After enroling at the University of New Orleans in 1999, Marian sat out the season as a medical red-shirt granted by the NCAA before transferring to the University of San Diego where he played for the Toreros baseball team from 2000-2002.[6] As a Senior Marian helped lead the Toreros to capture their first West Coast Conference title.[7][8]
