Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Jason Hursh was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the sixth round of the 2010 amateur draft but did not sign, opting to attend Oklahoma State University instead. Despite missing the entire 2012 season following Tommy John surgery, he bounced back and was selected by Atlanta Braves and scout Gerald Turner in the supplemental first round of the 2013 amateur draft, with the 3st overall pick. He soon signed for a bonus of more than $1.7 million and made his pro debut for the Rome Braves on July 5th, throwing two scoreless innings against the Asheville Tourists.
