Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Jason Ellis played in the Cincinnati Reds system in 2003 and 2004.

With the GCL Reds in 2003, he hit .267/.365/.356 with no home runs and five RBI in 21 games. He fielded .979 as the team's #2 catcher. In 2004, he played for the Billings Mustangs, hitting .250/.357/.417 with one home run and five RBI in 19 games, as a third-string backstop. Overall, he hit .258/.361/.387 in 40 games.

Following his playing career, he became a police officer. In May 2013, he was ambushed while on his way home from work. He died on May 25 at the age of 33.
