Biographical Information[edit]

Jan Pojer has played in the Czech Extraliga and the German Bundesliga.

Pojer was 10 for 26 with a double, 3 walks and a hit-by-pitch for the 2008 Eagles Prague. In 2009, he hit .248/.355/.293 as a regular. The next year, he produced at a .275/.448/.304 clip with 29 walks and 29 runs in 30 games. He also stole 11 bases in 12 tries. He led the Extraliga in walks and tied Wayne Ough for third in runs. He fell to .256/.360/.291 for the 2011 Eagles though he was 9-for-9 in stealing. He improved to .284/.408/.420 with 34 runs and 10 steals (caught once) in 43 contests in 2012, tying for 4th in the league with 10 HBP. He began 2013 with Germany's Berlin Sluggers but soon left for Ireland for work reasons. He returned to the Eagles Prague for the 2013 European Cup and was 4 for 13 with a double, four walks, a HBP, four runs, two RBI and eight whiffs in 5 games as their starting right fielder. His .494 OBP was 9th in the Barcelona Cup; six of the higher players had experience in the US pros. He had big hits a couple times, singling off Carlos Richetti to score Petr Zýma with the tying run in a 2-1 loss to champion Rimini and hitting the tying sacrifice fly in a 5-3 upset of the host Regensburg Legionäre.
