James Vilade
Biographical Information[edit]
James Vilade has been a minor league coach, college coach and scout.
Vilade was 348-117 as coach of the University of Dallas (1998-2001) and the University of Texas at Tyler (2004-2010). He was 37-1 in 2007. He finished as one of the top 20 NCAA coaches in career winning percentage, second in Texas NCAA schools after the legendary Cliff Gustafson. James was hitting coach of the Frisco RoughRiders in 2007-2008 and was a Florida Marlins scout in 2010-2011. He returned to the Rangers' organization as an assistant coach at Frisco.
His son Ryan Vilade reached the majors in 2021.
