Biographical Information[edit]

Jake Westbrook was drafted in the first round of the 1996 amateur draft by the Colorado Rockies out of high school after finishing with a 17-4 record, 1.46 ERA, and 246 strikeouts in only 153 1/3 innings worked. Prior to his junior year of high school, Westbrook had pitched only 2/3 of an inning at the varsity level.
