Biographical Information

Jake Thompson attended Sinuslaw High School in Florence, Oregon where he was drafted for the first time by the by the Chicago Cubs in the 34th round of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft. He instead went to attend Oregon State University for the 2014-2017 seasons. After a breakout senior year in 2017 for the Beavers where Thompson maintained a 1.96 ERA in 128 ip, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 4th round of the 2017 MLB June Amateur Draft.

Since 2017, Thompson has been climbing the Red Sox' system, reaching AAA Worcester for the first time in 2022.
