Biographical Information

Pitcher Jake Bird was the first UCLA player in 30 years to be named an Academic All-American when he earned the honor in 2018. He majored in economics and had chosen the college because of its academic prestige. He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 5th round of the 2018 amateur draft after that season.
