Biographical Information[edit]
Jae-ho Choi pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization for 4 years.
Choi played for South Korea in the 1994 Baseball World Cup. In his lone appearance for the Silver Medalists, he relieved Dong-hwan Moon with a 5-0 deficit in the 4th against the Netherlands. He allowed five hits, including a Lars Koehorst double and Marcel Joost triple, in 2 1/3 innings, yielding three runs (all earned). He had one walk and one strikeout. Myong-ju Cha closed out the 6-3 Korean win. The Samsung Lions drafted him in the 2nd round in the 1996 KBO draft, and he went 9-5 with a 4.84 ERA in his first season. He was 2-3 with a 3.76 ERA in 1997, then his ERA was 3.43 in 30 appearances in 1998. Choi missed the 1999 season due to military service, then he struggled in 2000 as his ERA rose to 6.16 in 25 games. He spent the entire 2001 season in the minors, then he announced his retirement. He became the coach of Gumi University in 2021.
Overall, Choi was 13-12 with a 4.44 ERA, struck out 173 and pitched 304 in 4 seasons in the KBO.
