John "Jackie" Gallagher possesses a perfect 1.000 batting average in the major leagues, having gotten a single off of pitcher Monroe Mitchell in the eighth inning of a game on August 24, 1923 when Jackie appeared for the 1923 Indians against the 1923 Senators. Jackie was 21 years old at the time.
The minor league database also shows him as playing two seasons in the minors, but that may not be complete.
The only other big leaguer born in Rhode Island in 1902 was Art Merewether.
