Biographical Information

Jack Warner played eight years in the majors. After being with Vernon in 1924, he came up shortly after he had turned 22 in 1925 to play with the Detroit Tigers under manager Ty Cobb, and became a regular in 1926 and 1927. 1927 was the only year in which he got over 350 major league at-bats.

He lost his regular job in 1928 and was traded after the season for Bucky Harris. In 1929 he joined the Brooklyn Robins and had a few at-bats each year from 1929 to 1931. After being out of the majors in 1932, he came back to get 340 at-bats with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1933 in his last major league year.

He was primarily a third baseman with Detroit, but was used more at shortstop by Brooklyn, and then played mostly second base for the Phillies, although he had never played second previously in the majors.

He is not to be confused with another Jack Warner or with Jackie Warner or John "Jack" Warner.
