Biographical Information[edit]
Clarence Curtis "Jack" Wanner was in three games with the New York Highlanders near the end of the 1909 season. Nine of his ten plate appearances were against the Boston Red Sox. His minor league career lasted nine seasons.
Jack was with the Portland Beavers in 1906. He was a star at Wichita in 1908, along with Ty Cobb's brother, Paul Cobb. In March 1911 he went from Memphis to Elmira. Sporting Life of July 6, 1912, says that he was Hartford's old second baseman and he was reporting back to Hartford. He was with Holyoke for part of 1913.
While there have been a number of major leaguers named Warner, Jack is the only one named Wanner. The closest anyone comes to that name are the Waner brothers, Paul Waner and Lloyd Waner.
