Biographical Information[edit]

Second baseman/outfielder Jack Love played in the minor leagues in 1905 and from 1907 to 1916. Perhaps his best seasons were 1911, when he hit .279 with 179 hits and 38 doubles for the Kansas City Blues, 1915, when he hit .283 with 153 hits and 13 triples for the San Antonio Bronchos and 1910, when he hit .263 with 152 hits in 157 games for Kansas City. In 1908, he hit .292 with a career-high 46 stolen bases, but played just 127 games. His full-season statistics are not available, but it is known he led the North Texas League with a .327 batting average in 1905.

In 1906, he was the second of two managers for the Hot Springs Vapors, replacing Wade Moore. In 1907, he was the first of two managers for the Bartlesville Boosters, being replaced by Harry Truby; the team won the league championship that year. In 1916, he was the second of two managers for the Sherman Lions, replacing Walter Frantz.
