Biographical Information[edit]

Henry "Jack" Lively pitched for the Detroit Tigers in 1911, appearing in 18 games and posting a record of 7-5. He was two years older than teammate Ty Cobb.

Lively was born in Joppa, AL, in the northern part of the state. In the minors, he won 23 games for Gulfport in 1907, 25 games for two teams in 1908, 18 for Montgomery in 1909, and 31 for Oakland in 1910. Walter Moser also won 31 for Oakland that year.

He is the father of Buddy Lively, pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds (1947-1949).
