Biographical Information[edit]
Jack Liptak won Silver in the 1951 Pan American Games when Wake Forest served as Team USA. [1] He hit .461, second on the team (.006 behind Frank Wehner) and led the team with 12 RBI, two shy of event leader Angel Scull. [2] He was the primary catcher for the 1953 Owensboro Oilers, hitting .277/.397/.409 and fielding .976. His 7 triples were one shy of making the Kitty League top-ten. He was 0 for 5 for the 1954 Quincy Gems then batted .292/.352/.354 in 19 games for the 1955 Jacksonville Braves to end his career.
