Biographical Information[edit]
Jack Holland was an umpire in several major leagues at the end of the 19th Century. He first worked in the American Association in 1884, for 15 games, but also saw action in the rival Union Association for 32 games that same season. In 1887, he was in the National League, then in 1889, he completed the circle by returning to the American Association. All in all, he worked 151 games.
Befoer his umpiring career, he was a minor league third baseman, playing for the Pottsville Anthracites and the Reading Actives of the Interstate Association in 1883.
