Biographical Information[edit]
Jack Ashton pitched in the minor leagues from 1901 to 1907 and from 1909 to 1916. Seasons of note include 1903, when he went 16-12 for the Vicksburg Hill Billies and 1904, when he went 18-11 for the same club. He rattled off a stretch of solid campaigns later in his career, going 20-12 with a 2.80 ERA for the Shreveport Pirates in 1910, 21-12 with a 2.68 mark for the Austin Senators in 1911 and 16-14, 3.11 for the Senators in 1912. He won at least 17 games between two clubs in 1913, then went 21-9, 2.71 for the Waco Navigators in 1914. Overall, he won at least 133 games in his career and lost at least 116.
He managed the short-lived Rusk Governors of the East Texas League in 1916.
