Biographical Information[edit]
Irv Brown was head baseball coach at Arvada High School, Metropolitan State University of Denver (1968-1969) and University of Colorado (1970-1978). He led the University of Colorado to Game 12 of the 15-game 1976 Big Eight Conference Tournament, eventually losing to Iowa State University.
Outside of baseball, he coached basketball and football at a variety of levels, from high school to college. He was a basketball official, working six Final Fours in the 1960s and 1970s. He later worked on television, calling the first College World Series for ESPN and ESPN's initial college football telecast. He also worked in radio for 42 years.
He was elected to the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
