Biographical Information[edit]
Il-soo Chun pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization for 3 years.
Chun played for the South Korean national team in the 1988 Baseball World Cup, allowing two runs in six innings. The Pacific Dolphins selected him in the first round of the 1991 KBO draft, and he had a 7.20 ERA in 5 games in his first season. He missed the entire 1992 season due to shoulder injury, then the Dolphins released him. The LG Twins picked him up, and Chun's ERA was 0.75 in 4 games in 1993. He pitched 30 games with a 3.40 ERA in 1994, but he missed the entire 1995 season due to disc herniation. Chun announced his retirement after the 1995 season, and he became an umpire of the KBO in 1996. His son Seung-woo Chun also played in the KBO.
Overall, Chun was 3-1 with a 3.19 ERA, struck out 30 and pitched 62 innings in 3 seasons in the KBO.
