Biographical Information[edit]

Ikuo Ikeda pitched in NPB and the CPBL.

Ikeda was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 7th round of the 1992 NPB draft, but he spent his first year in the NPB Farm Leagues. He allowed 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings in 1994, and he had a 17.18 ERA in 1995. The Carp sent him to the China Times Eagles of Taiwan in the middle of the 1995 season, and Ikeda went 0-2 with a 4.88 ERA for them. Ikeda fanned 13 against the Wei Chuan Dragons on May 25, and he was the youngest pitcher to collect more than 10 strikeouts in a game in CPBL history. He then returned to the Carp, but he didn't pitch any more games with the big club until he announced his retirement in 1998.

Overall, Ikeda was 0-0 with a 15.00 ERA, struck out 3 and pitched 6 innings in 2 years in NPB.
