Biographical Information

Catcher Ichiro Hara played in the Koshien Tournament five times in high school, including appearing on one tourney winner. After high school, he joined the Osaka Tigers and hit .234/.279/.297 in the fall of 1937. At age 20, he hit .254/.324/.254 in the spring season and went 2 for 13 in the fall season before being drafted into the military; his career line was .230/.296/.257. He died in combat in World War II.
