Biographical Information[edit]

Ian Harvey pitched in the minor leagues and for Team Canada.

Harvey began his professional career with the London Werewolves, and he went 4-1 with two saves and a 5.11 ERA in 1999. He was 2-0 with 7 saves and a 1.39 ERA for the Werewolves in 2000, and the Boston Red Sox signed him. Harvey went 2-1 with a 2.63 ERA for the Augusta GreenJackets to finish that season. Even though he hadn't ended the year in the Frontier League, he still ranked 7th in saves. He returned to London in [2001]], and he notched 11 saves with a 2.40 ERA in 31 appearances (he would tie B.J. Richter and Chad Bircher for 7th in the loop in saves) before the San Diego Padres signed him. Harvey's ERA was 2.84 in 8 games with 3 saves for the Fort Wayne Wizards, and he represented Canada in the 2001 Baseball World Cup. [1] In a team-high four appearances, he allowed one run in 3 2/3 IP. He then went 1-2 with a 3.48 ERA for the Lake Elsinore Storm in 2002, and he notched 3 saves with a 1.89 ERA and a 6-1 record in 12 games for the Mobile BayBears. Harvey was 2-0 with a 4.66 ERA for the BayBears in 2003, and he also went 4-1 with a 3.75 ERA for the Reading Phillies, affiliated with the Philadelphia Phillies. That was his last season.

In 163 games as a pro, he had gone 23-8 with 26 saves and a 2.83 ERA, striking out 330 in 305 1/3 innings.
