Biographical Information[edit]
Hyeon-gon Ryu has pitched for the South Korean national team.
Ryu was drafted by the SSG Landers in the 8th round of the 2023 KBO draft, and he stayed in the minors for the entire '23 season.[1] He then made South Korea's young club for the 2023 Asian Championship. Ryu started against the State of Palestine, and he pitched 2 shutout innings with 4 strikeouts; Byeong-heon Lee succeeded him. Korea beat the Philippines with a 7-0 score in the Bronze Medal Game. [2] Ryu missed the 2024 season due to military service.
