Biographical Information

Hsiao-Jung Shih pitched in the CPBL for 2 years.

Shih was drafted by the Brother Elephants in the 5th round of the 2010 CPBL Draft, and he had a 3.69 ERA in 34 games in the minors in 2011. He collected a league-leading 4 saves with a 4.94 ERA in the minors in 2012, but his ERA was 5.60 in 20 games with the big club. Shih only pitched 5 games in the major league in 2013, then he stayed in the minors for the entire 2014 season. Shih’s ERA was 7.84 in 2014, then the Elephants released him.

Shih’s repertoire included a fastball, changeup, forkball and slider.

Overall, Shih was 0-0 with a 5.18 ERA, pitched 33 innings and struck out 15 in 2 seasons in the CPBL.
