Howard Bushong

Biographical Information[edit]
Howard Bushong was part of the 1975 National Champion Longhorn team. After graduating in 1977, he was the head coach at Austin Westlake High from 1978 to 1989, coaching Kelly Gruber and Calvin Schiraldi. He was then an assistant coach at UT from 1990 to 1992.
Bushong was the head coach at Southwest Texas State University from 1993 to 1999.
Bushong managed the AZL Padres in 2000, and the GCL Tigers from 2001 to 2003.
Bushong returned to Texas State (as SW Texas State is now called) in 2004, this time as assistant coach.
