Biographical Information[edit]

Hoo-seung Yang has played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 7 years. His brother Seung-gwan Yang and nephew Won-hyeok Yang both played in the KBO.

Yang was drafted by the Sammi Superstars in the first round of the 1985 KBO draft, and he hit .170/.278/.234 in 48 games in 1985. He struggled again in 1986 as his batting line was .194/.286/.237, then he improved to .242/.333/.326 in 1987. Yang went 8-for-53 in 1988, then he played 51 games with a .185/.353/.407 batting line in 1989. He went to the Ssangbangwool Raiders in 1991, and he had a .325/.389/.438 batting line in 74 games. Yang then had a 4-for-18 record in 1992, and he announced his retirement. He was the fielding coach for the Sinon Bulls in 1997, and he coached Incheon High School from 2003 to 2008. He was a scout for the NC Dinos from 2012 to 2021.

Overall, Yang hit .224/.322/.311 with 101 hits and 6 homers in 7 seasons in the KBO.
