Homestand
(Redirected from Home stand)
A homestand or home stand is a series of games played a team in its home ballpark. Typically in a major league season, homestands will alternate with road trips, and the schedule will balance out between home games and road games at the end.
A homestand is considered to be a favorable occasion, especially if it stretches into three or more series, because the team has the home-field advantage in all of the games. In addition, the players can stay home for a while, rest better and get into a routine, without the need to undertake a tiring trip every few days.
