Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Hogan Windish did something unprecedented on June 25, 2024, playing for the Arkansas Travelers against the Springfield Cardinals, as not only did he hit hit four homers but also drive in all nine of his team's run in a 9-4 win. He was the first player in minor league history to drive in all nine of his team's runs, a feat that has only been accomplished once at the major league level, by Mike Greenwell on September 2, 1996.
He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 7th round of the 2022 amateur draft, out of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he hit .370 with 16 homers and 60 RBIs in 58 games in his final year. He began his pro career in 2022 with the ACL Mariners before receiving a quick promotion to the Modesto Nuts of the California League, hitting .333 in 33 games between the two stops. He spent his first full season in 2023 with the Everett AquaSox of the Northwest League, where he hit .270/.372/.507 in 105 games, with 22 homers and 84 RBIs. He was named the Northwest League Player of the Month for August and a postseason All-Star. He played both first base and second base that year.
He was assigned to Arkansas to start the 2024 season, and was scuffling a bit before his historic game, as that night's performance upped his batting average to .221 with 7 homers and 28 RBIs after 59 games. He was the second Travelers player ever to have a four-homer game, following Tyrone Horne in 1998, and the first to do so in the minors since Chandler Redmond in 2022.
