Biographical Information[edit]
Hisashi Kawata pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 3 years.
Kawata represented Japan in the 2004 Haarlemse Honkbalweek. He was drafted by the Rakuten Golden Eagles in the 4th round of the 2005 NPB draft, and he was 0-for-12 in 2006. He also played 25 games with a .238/.316/.393 batting line for the Honolulu Sharks in the Hawaiian Winter League He went 4-for-15 in 2007, and he spent the next four seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. Kawata had a 12-for-41 record in 2012, but he didn't get any appearances with the big club in 2013 then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Kawata hit .235/.312/.265 with 16 hits in 3 seasons in NPB.
