Biographical Information[edit]
Hiroya Tani pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
The Yomiuri Giants drafted Tani in the second round of the 1999 NPB draft. He represented Japan in the 2002 Asian Games, and led the Eastern League in wins in 2002. However, Tani spent his nearly entire career in the NPB Farm Leagues, only had 2 appearances in 2003.The Giants released him after the 2003 season, and the Chiba Lotte Marines picked him up. The Wakayama native still couldn't have any chances with the big club in 2004, then he announced his retirement after the 2004 season.
