Biographical Information

Hiromasa Sato struck out 93 in the Hokkaido Summer Koshien qualifier in 1973; only Shigeo Kondo and Eiji Sawamura had more strikeouts in the Summer Koshien qualifier in tournament history. He was drafted by the Lotte Orions in the first round of the 1973 NPB draft, but he only pitched one game for the big club in 1976. He did well, pitching 1 2/3 shutout, hitless innings, walking one. He also appeared seven times as a defensive substitute (OF, SS, P) but never batted. He retired in 1980.
