Biographical Information[edit]
Hi Jasper didn't come to the majors until he was 27 years old. One reference, a book called "Beating the Breaks: Major League Ballplayers Who Overcame Disabilities", says that Jasper was blind in one eye, and that may have kept him from getting a chance at the big leagues until late.
Jasper had the most appearances with the 1916 St. Louis Cardinals, in Rogers Hornsby's first full season as a major league player.
Jasper holds the record for most RBI in a season with zero hits. He went 0 for 5 with 4 RBI in the 1914 campaign.
