Biographical Information[edit]
Herb Hutson pitched 20 games with a 3.45 ERA for the Chicago Cubs in 1974. He was the same age as teammate Burt Hooton. His minor league career was from 1970-1975.
Herb led the Southern League in shutouts with 5 while pitching for the Asheville Orioles in 1972.
Herb attended Georgia Southern University just after Vic Correll had been there, and the two were both in the 1974 National League.
Hutson's son Brad was a high school star in Georgia in 2007 whose team won the Class A state championship. There has been one other major leaguer with the same last name - Roy Hutson.
