In 1950, the Hazleton Mountaineers were renamed the Hazleton Dodgers as they were a farm club of the Brooklyn Dodgers that year, the last for the North Atlantic League and for pro baseball in Hazleton, PA. The team finished 4th in the league at 71-58-1 and fell in the first round of the playoffs. Leading the NAL in attendance (42,102), the team was managed by George Pfister and outscored their opponents 747-622, leading the league in runs, hits (1,272), total bases (1,666) and batting average (.287). In addition to managing, Pfister was the club's main catcher and won the league's batting title with a .334/~.433/.449 line. OF Ralph Guyton led the league's outfielders with 27 assists and was second in the loop in average with a .327/~.402/.424 campaign. Guyton's 98 RBI were two short of the league lead.
