The Haymarket Battle Cats joined the Valley Baseball League in 2005. The team had played a one-and-done season as the Loudoun Rangers in 2004. The Battle Cats, managed Mark Keagle, finished last in the North division going 18-26. The team was rebranded the Haymarket Senators in 2006.
