Biographical Information[edit]

Harry Taylor was signed by the Chicago White Sox in 1938, but missed five seasons (1941-1945) due to military service and didn't get to the majors until 1946. He was with the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1946 to 1948, and the Boston Red Sox from 1950 to 1952.

His biggest year was 1947, when he went 10-5 and appeared briefly in the 1947 World Series. He started Game 4 against the New York Yankees on October 3rd, but things did not go well: he allowed two singles, then Yogi Berra reached on an error and he walked Joe DiMaggio to force in a run before being replaced by Hal Gregg.
