Infielder-outfielder Harry Niles played five seasons in the major leagues. In 1907 his .289 batting average was 7th in the American League. The next year, when the league hit .239, he hit .249.

He is one of two major leaguers with the last name Niles (through 2007), the other being Bill Niles.

Niles played almost 300 games in the majors in the outfield, and also almost 300 games in the infield. He was mostly an outfielder in 1906, mostly a second baseman in 1907-08, and mostly an outfielder again in 1909-10. However, during his years as an outfielder, he also seemed to play a lot of third base.
