Baseball Career[edit]

Harry Huston played for the University of Kansas baseball team in Lawrence, KS from 1902 until 1906.[1]

He made his major league debut as a catcher with the Philadelphia Phillies on September 3, 1906 and played his final major league game on September 19th that year.[2] His teammates included Hall of Famers Hugh Duffy and Kid Nichols.[3] His short professional career consisted of four at bats, no hits, and one base on balls.[4] He continued to pursue his baseball career in the minor leagues.[5]

Football Career[edit]

Huston was the second football coach for the Southwestern College Moundbuilders in Winfield, KS and held that position for one year, coaching the 1904 season. His overall coaching record at Southwestern was 3 wins, 4 losses, and 0 ties. As of completion of the 2007 season, his ranks him 24th at Southwestern in terms of total wins and 19th at Southwestern in terms of total winning percentage.[6]

His duties of coaching at Southwestern were completed during the off-season of his baseball playing at the University of Kansas.[7]
