Biographical Information[edit]
"Mack has picked up a southpaw pitcher named Eccles from the Jamestown, N. Y., independent team who looks like his best pick-up in years. This lad has never had any professional experience, but has pitched great ball for five innings of two games, when he was sent to the relief of a hurler in distress." - Sporting Life, September 25, 1915
Harry Eccles pitched five games for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1915.

The Oswego Palladium-Times of June 3, 1955 carried an obituary which indicates that Eccles developed a sore arm in 1915 which caused him to quit baseball.
