Biographical Information[edit]
Happy Iott appeared in three games for the Cleveland Naps in 1903.
Iott, known in his hometown as "Biddo Iott", was on the championship Houlton, ME town team that won the Maine state championship in 1897. A photo of the team can be found here [1]. He was also on the 1902 town team.
It was reported [2] in 1906 that he jumped from the Fall River team to an outlaw league.
" 'Happy Biddo' Iott came into Bangor with the first drive of logs from up the Penobscot and is trying to get up enthusiasm for a four club league in the Eastern part of Maine. The towns that he has booked are Bangor, Millinocket, Oldtown, and Houlton -- four good, live base ball towns when the games do not come too thick. Iott has made good in Bangor for the past two years, in spite of the hard season of 1908." - Sporting Life, May 1, 1909
