Biographical Information[edit]

Hao-Yuan Lo pitched in the CPBL for 5 years.

Lo played for one of the CPBL's developmental teams in 2006 then moved to Taiwan's amateur leagues. He pitched for Taiwan in the 2006 Intercontinental Cup, allowing 6 runs, 3 walks and 8 hits in 4 2/3 IP to post the club's second-highest ERA; he won his lone decision, though. With Taiwan desperate for help for the 2009 World Baseball Classic, Lo was added to the preliminary roster after two CPBL teams refused having their players participate and initial selections Wei-Lun Pan, Hong-Chih Kuo and Wei-Yin Chen withdrew or were blocked from playing by their teams. He also pitched in the 2010 Haarlem Baseball Week.

The Sinon Bulls drafted Lo in the second round of the 2009 CPBL Draft, and he pitched well in the minors. He was 8-3 with a 1.80 ERA, and led the minor league in wins and ERA. He entered the rotation of the big club in 2011, but he was 4-5 with a 5.50 ERA. He was 0-4 with a 7.54 ERA in 2012, and he stayed in the minor league for the entire 2013 season. Lo only had 8 appearances combined in the next two seasons, then he announced his retirement after the 2015 season. He became the coach of Cheng Kung Commercial & Aquaculture Vocational High School‎ in 2018.

Lo throws a slider, curveball, changeup and fastball (peak time of 93 mph).

Overall, Lo was 4-10 with a 6.56 ERA, struck out 85 and pitched 142 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in the CPBL.
