Biographical Information[edit]

Hank Steinbacher played right field for the Chicago White Sox in 1938 and had a batting average that was in the top ten in the league. He went 6-for-6 on June 22nd that year.

Steinbacher never played below what is now AAA. He began with the Sacramento Senators in 1930-1935, then moved to the St. Paul Saints in 1936-1937. After the majors he was with the Toledo Mud Hens in 1940-1942, the Buffalo Bisons in 1942 and the San Francisco Seals in 1943-1945.

After returning from service in 1947, Steinbacher joined the Sacramento Police Department, retiring in 1966.
