First Baseman Hal Van Pelt played minor league ball from 1940 to 1953, missing the 1943-1945 seasons. He played a total of 35 games in the Texas League in 1946 and 1948, the only time he rose above class B ball. Van Pelt hit 20 homers in the 1946 East Texas League and 21 in the 1947 Big State League; his career high otherwise was 10. He also topped .300 five times.
