Biographical Information[edit]

Hal Raether, a right-hander out of the University of Wisconsin, made two relief appearances with no decisions for the Philadelphia Athletics and Kansas City Athletics. The first came in 1954 in the team's final year in Philadelphia and the second in 1957 by which time the franchise had been relocated to Kansas City.

In his 1954 appearance against the Boston Red Sox, he faced Ted Williams and walked him on a 3-2 pitch.

Raether left baseball at age 26 in 1958 and went on to become the director of an athletic club. He later retired in Prescott, WI.
